One of the fun things about collecting stamp sets is being able to mix and match them. Some sets like Lighthearted Lines only contains sentiments, so if I want an image I have no option than to look elsewhere. But other times I find fun new combinations as I combine older sets with newer ones. Today's simple Sunday card project is a case in point. Lighthearted Lines has some great fun sentiments but one in particular stood out and I knew exactly where to find an appropriate image. So out ... VIEW POST
Pets Always Keep Us On Our Toes
I'm a cat person. There I've said it. I had a variety of pets as a child, dogs, cats, rabbits etc. But I love the individuality and personality of cats. We currently have Houdini (who's just popped into the craft room to remind me I haven't given him breakfast...). He's a sweet black cat, 11 years old now, but still spritely enough to catch the occasional mouse. Last month right in the middle of my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge Houdini caught me unawares and brought a live mouse into the ... VIEW POST
Lighthearted Lines Tells The Tale
Are you a reader? When I'm not making things with stamps, ink and paper I like to relax with a good book. I have favourite authors whose books I collect, and I like to discover new ones too. My daughter helps me with that as we swap books we've read and enjoyed. So it's no wonder I like to merge my passions from time to time and create bookmarks. Today's project is quite different though, it's a simple design for a corner bookmark and like nothing I've made before. With a sentiment from ... VIEW POST
Lighthearted Lines With Thanks
Have you ever done something completely daft? You know the kind of thing that you hoped no one saw at the time. Then somehow you can't resist telling a special friend or family member about it. Usually the retelling is accompanied by "don't laugh but..." Of course laughter often eventually follows. This was what came to mind with this thank you card using the Lighthearted Lines Stamp Set. "Thanks for lending and ear ... and keeping a straight face." MYSTERY STAMPING This card ... VIEW POST
Lighthearted Lines Inspired Me Once Again
My regular readers will know that I love finding new and interesting sentiments to use on my projects. Sometimes they're part of a stamp set with both images and sentiments. Other times they're part of a sentiment only set like the new Lighthearted Lines. This set of eight stamps has somewhat larger sentiments, although they're certainly not huge. Some of them could also be 'edited' with the first part stamped on the front of a card and the second part on the inside. Today though I kept ... VIEW POST
Thankfully Everything Is Figure-outable
Today has been one of those days when the simplest of projects just kept going wrong. Decorating a boring notebook is something I've done many times and it's not hard really. However, despite the challenges I faced, I'm pretty happy with the result. By the time I got to the end "Everything is figure-outable" seemed to sum it up perfectly. SIMPLEST COVER This notebook happens to be one I've been using for some time. It's 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" with a black binding and was looking rather ... VIEW POST
