Today has been one of those frustrating mornings. Due to our very slow rural internet service I set a video to upload to YouTube overnight. Unfortunately when I came down this morning it had crashed and I had to start all over again. Then as I was trying to upload today's Whale Done! project the internet kept dropping out. So this whole thing has taken me so many more coffees than I'd planned. Still, it's done now, so now I get to spend a fun few hours creating in my studio. ... VIEW POST
Marking World Diabetes Day 2020
In 1991 the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organisation created World Diabetes Day. Then in 2006 it was adopted as an official United Nations Day. It is now held every year on November 14th, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting who in 1922 co-discovered insulin with Charles Best. If you been following my blog for a while you may know that in June 2017 we lost our son to complications arising from his Type 1 diabetes. He was just 31 years old. So diabetes awareness ... Zany Zebra Enjoys My Sea-nery
After a couple of Christmas cards I thought it was time for something different. So today I have another project from my 24 cards in 24 hours challenge. This one started out quite simply as a desire to make a birthday card using the Zany Zebras Stamp Set. In my search for some appropriate paper for the scenery, things definitely took a zany turn. ZANY ZEBRAS As I said this project all began with the Zany Zebras; the galloping zebra to be precise. Using Tuxedo Black ink I first ... VIEW POST
Playing with fishes once again
Living in Nova Scotia I can't help but be drawn to anything sea or coast related. So of course when I saw the Whale Of A Time Suite in the Stampin' Up! catalogue I knew I had to get it. As well as a great variety of images, I love the sentiments in the Whale Done Stamp Set. Today as I sat down to make a gift tag, it was "birthday fishes" that sparked my imagination. FISHES I began by choosing a design from the the Whale Of A Time 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Thinking ... VIEW POST
A Colourful View Of The Deck
What's your thoughts about images of empty chairs? My daughter says they make her think of someone dying. Me? I think of them as inviting me to sit and relax. That was my thought when I made my first project using the Seaside View Stamp Set. I wanted to create a colourful deck scene with a view over the water. Once I was done I thought it would be perfect to decorate a mini pocket photo album. So that's what I ended up with today. VIEW FROM A SHIP? I began with the image of two ... VIEW POST
Paper Tole or Paper Piecing, it’s still fun
Crafting of any kind can become expensive and I'm always looking for ways to use my products rater than wasting them. That means when I have scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP) I keep them in their original pack along with the full sheets. I must admit that I keep tiny pieces, I mean, really tiny. After all I never know when I'll need that small piece for a project. Today was one of those days when my tiny scraps of DSP came into their own as I created a pretty bookmark. Whether you call ...
