Did you know that July has been designated World Watercolor Month? While painting with ink mixed with water isn’t exactly what the originators had in mind, it’s as close as I get. I must admit that it’s been quite a while since I’ve picked up my Water Painters but this was the perfect excuse. So armed with the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and a selection of ink pads I set to work. Admittedly it did take some time but I have to say that I’m delighted with the final result. WATERPROOF ... Rediscovering The Sunflowers
Autumn is definitely getting a foothold here in Nova Scotia. As I drove into town yesterday I noticed quite a few trees have started to replace green with bright reds and yellows. While we don't have any fields of sunflowers, somehow when I think of autumn I always think of them. So today I decided that I'd pull out the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and coordinating Sunflowers Dies for this pretty gift tag. CELEBRATE SUNFLOWERS WITH MARKERS Instead of ink pads I thought it would be ... VIEW POST
Take one Mini Paper Pumpkin Box
It's tough to create with a headache but I managed it. I just wanted to create something quickly, and a Mini Paper Pumpkin Box was the first thing at hand. With a little ink, stamping and die-cutting I was able to create a pretty favour box for my Thanksgiving table. MINI PAPER PUMPKIN BOX The Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes come flat but are all cut and scored. They have a food safe coating on the inside while the outside is plain white and ready for decorating. Today I used a quick ink ... VIEW POST
Celebrate With A Sunflower And Lace
It occurred to me yesterday that it's been ages since I last made a gift card holder. In fact what reminded me was seeing how many of my gift card holders I have sold recently. So what better way to celebrate than to make more... PAINTED SUNFLOWER I began my project with the pretty small sunflower image from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set. Using VersaMark ink I stamped the image onto some Shimmery White Card. Next I sprinkled the sticky ink with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder ... VIEW POST
Magenta Madness On A Cloudy Day
Yesterday evening I had fun time on a Zoom meeting with 40 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from across Canada. The meeting was organised by our Canadian Manager Dale Hampshire and members of the 2020 Canadian Demonstrator Council. As part of the event we were challenged to create a card using a sketch designed by Julie Tilman as our inspiration. As soon as I saw it I had an idea, and it involved a hot pink gerbera using Magenta Madness Card. SIMPLE LAYERS The sketch from Julie was quite ... VIEW POST
From Tumble Weed To Wheat Sheaf
So far today has not been very productive. I've been up for hours and despite spending much of that in my craft studio have struggled to create anything. It's like my creative brain has been replaced with tumble weed. So I did what I usually do when my creativity takes a nap, I just start playing with whatever's at hand. It was while doing something completely different with the Sunflowers Dies that my eyes fell on two of the smaller dies. Finally it sparked an idea but instead of ... VIEW POST
