Did you know that in Canada the second Monday in October is Thanksgiving? The timing coincides perfectly with the end of harvesting and the changes autumn brings. Lots of people decorate for the season and sunflowers are a big part of that. On my drive from town the other day I noticed a large field of sunflowers, all different sizes and colours. So when I was thinking about a project for my blog today they immediately came to mind. This was the card I ended up making. Happy Thanksgiving ... VIEW POST
Ink For Painting
Did you know that July has been designated World Watercolor Month? While painting with ink mixed with water isn’t exactly what the originators had in mind, it’s as close as I get. I must admit that it’s been quite a while since I’ve picked up my Water Painters but this was the perfect excuse. So armed with the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and a selection of ink pads I set to work. Admittedly it did take some time but I have to say that I’m delighted with the final result. WATERPROOF ... While we don't have any fields of sunflowers, somehow when I think of autumn I always think of them. So today I decided that I'd pull out the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and coordinating Sunflowers Dies for this pretty gift tag. CELEBRATE SUNFLOWERS WITH MARKERS Instead of ink pads I thought it would be ... VIEW POST
Take One Stampin Blends Alcohol Marker
I'm officially head-over-heels with the True Love 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! In the pack there's twelve different black and white designs on twelve double-sided sheets (two of each). So far I haven't found one I don't like especially since it's perfect for colouring. Today I pulled out my Stampin' Blends alcohol markers, but in the end used just one single. The result was stunning, even if I do say so myself. POOL PARTY STAMPIN' BLENDS I began my card, as so I ... VIEW POST
