Living in Nova Scotia I can't help but be drawn to anything sea or coast related. So of course when I saw the Whale Of A Time Suite in the Stampin' Up! catalogue I knew I had to get it. As well as a great variety of images, I love the sentiments in the Whale Done Stamp Set. Today as I sat down to make a gift tag, it was "birthday fishes" that sparked my imagination. FISHES I began by choosing a design from the the Whale Of A Time 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. Thinking ... VIEW POST

A Colourful View Of The Deck
What's your thoughts about images of empty chairs? My daughter says they make her think of someone dying. Me? I think of them as inviting me to sit and relax. That was my thought when I made my first project using the Seaside View Stamp Set. I wanted to create a colourful deck scene with a view over the water. Once I was done I thought it would be perfect to decorate a mini pocket photo album. So that's what I ended up with today. VIEW FROM A SHIP? I began with the image of two ... VIEW POST
Paper Tole or Paper Piecing, it’s still fun
Crafting of any kind can become expensive and I'm always looking for ways to use my products rater than wasting them. That means when I have scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP) I keep them in their original pack along with the full sheets. I must admit that I keep tiny pieces, I mean, really tiny. After all I never know when I'll need that small piece for a project. Today was one of those days when my tiny scraps of DSP came into their own as I created a pretty bookmark. Whether you call ... Zany Zebras Gallop In
Each time a new Stampin' Up! catalogue comes out I can't wait to discover new stamp sets featuring cute animals. In the past we've had sets dedicated to cats and dogs, plus pigs and cows. This year one of the animal sets is Zany Zebras and I couldn't wait to get it inky. ZEBRAS ARE BLACK AND WHITE I know it's a bit predictable but I really wanted my first Zany Zebras project to feature a traditional black and white zebra. I'll have plenty of time to play with other colours, so today I ... VIEW POST
Curing Frustration With Gratitude
I've had what I can only describe a a very frustrating morning. I've started five projects and none of them were going the way I'd planned. It didn't help that I have an appointment later and I know I have a lot to do before then. After abandoning my first five projects I finally decided to try something simpler. Much simpler. So "with gratitude" from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, this is today's project. SMALL AND SWEET I began with a 3" x 6" piece of Whisper White Card, ... VIEW POST
Whale Have A Happy Saturday
Today's card began after I received an e-mail from one of the design challenges I follow. CAS(E) this Sketch provided the layout and I immediately know whet I wanted to make. Instead of seeing the circle as a punched layer on top, I saw a hole. From there it all went swimmingly using the new Whale Done Stamp Set. WHALE OF A TIME For me the hardest part of this project was finding just the right background. I wanted it to complement my planned whale image and not distract from it. ... VIEW POST
