On Monday I got my first look at the Last Chance List. This is a list of products that are being retired by Stampin’ Up! and are now only available while stocks last. Some of these retiring items will be offered at a discount starting April 9th (but not all). Today’s project showcases a selection of these, starting with the Zany Zoo Stamp Set and coordinating dies, two of the 2022-2024 InColors® along with the Happy Labels Stamp Set. These combined to create this card featuring a cute cycling ... VIEW POST
Closing Time At The Zoo
Metal Plate Texture
One of the lessons I’ve learned over the years with my card designs is to mix it up. Some of my projects are really simple and require no special tools or techniques. However today’s birthday card doesn’t fall into that category. Instead I combined patterned paper, dies and embellishments. I also took a plain Very Vanilla top layer and added tons of interest using the Metal Plate 3D Embossing Folder. The result is a layout that could be adapted for many different occasions, simply change out the ... VIEW POST
More Dazzle
We’re coming to the end of our granddaughter’s stay with us and ticking off the last few things on her bucket list. Many involved food and shopping which was fine with me, lol. We’ve also been exploring Nova Scotia’s flora and fauna. There was no big zoo trip this time but instead we enjoyed discovering creatures in the wild. Today our plan is to print off some of the photos ready for some crafty time. Meanwhile, here’s an animal-themed birthday giftcard envelope complete with a More Dazzle ... VIEW POST
Cracker Of An Idea
Right now we’re getting very excited as we look forward to our eldest granddaughter spending part of her summer with us without the rest of her family. Lots of things are planned, with rest days factored in. We’ll definitely be doing some shopping and that made me think of gifting her some money. Using the Cracker & Treat Box Dies I created a unique and fun way to do this. While doing that I also thought of a quick and easy way to hold the ends of the cracker closed. QUICK CRACKER I ... Flowers From The Zoo
Often when I make a project featuring flowers the blooms are big and the focus of attention. For today’s card however they are much more subtle. That said, they were definitely the most time-consuming part of the creative process. You see the flowery background is one of the black and white patterns in the Zoo Crew 12” x 12” Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. My colour scheme came from another sheet from the DSP pack where the cute alligator is riding a bike with a basket full of pink ... VIEW POST
Zany Colouring Idea
One of the reasons I love stamping is because it makes me feel artistic, even though my drawing skills are childlike to say the least. It’s also why I love Stampin’ Up!’s pretty Designer Series Paper (DSP). So when I get to combine the two I’m in heaven. Another reason I love their DSP is it gives me ideas. Take the Zoo Crew paper. The minimal colouring of the various critters inspired me to try the same thing with images from the Zany Zoo Stamp Set, and this birthday card was the ... VIEW POST
