I've been looking through the Stampin' Up! inventory and was pleased to see a lot of retiring products are still available. So that meant I could pull out the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper (DSP) for today's card project. As I sorted through the various scraps of paper I had left I realised that one design in particular needed no cutting. It seems that at some point I'd planned to use the pine cone pattern for a card but never did. Today would be the day the pine cone paper finally ... VIEW POST
Saying Goodbye To Beautiful Autumn
As expected, yesterday's dusting of snow quickly melted and we're back to that odd 'between season' kind of weather. The autumn leaves are all gone, but still there's a little warmth that makes being outside quite pleasant at times. Sadly it won't be long before the colder weather returns and settles in. So today with that in mind I'm saying goodbye to the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set by decorating a 3" x 3" Post-It Note® pad. GILDED AUTUMN I began my project by choosing this gorgeous ... VIEW POST
Autumn Wreath As The Weather Turns Colder
Yesterday was one of those days that reminded me winter is not far away. It was much colder, and the waves of heavy rain were studded with ice pellets. The very windy weather also made for difficult driving conditions and I was glad to make it home in one piece. This morning is better with bright sunshine melting the ice on the deck, and we have double-digit temperatures forecast for later in the week. Still, it won't be long before ice and snow becomes the norm. So today I decided to make ... VIEW POST
Thanks for your support and encouragement
Thanks to everyone who followed me on Facebook over the weekend. To say that I am tired is a bit of an understatement. For the past 4 years to mark World Cardmaking Day I've set myself a personal challenge. I resolve to design and make from scratch, 24 cards (complete with decorated insides and envelopes) in 24 hours. It's not an easy task, but if it was it wouldn't be a challenge. I often make things harder than they should be, for instance by not finishing a blog post that needs to go ... VIEW POST
A Paper Pumpkin Thing – Hello Pumpkin
It may not be the end of September but it is the last Thursday, so that means it's time for another A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop. This month we were treated to the Hello Pumpkin kit. This kit was designed so we could make Halloween or autumn themed crackers, with enough supplies for 20. I'm not a huge Halloween fan but that really didn't matter with this kit. HELLO PUMPKIN POST-IT NOTE® PAD For my first project I decided to use pieces from the Hello Pumpkin kit to decorate a ... VIEW POST
Taking My Cue From Mother Nature
Stampin' Up! really does make it easy to create lovely papercraft projects. What's more there's a continuity that straddles the products so mixing and matching from different catalogues is seamless. Mind you that wasn't exactly what I had in mind today. I just thought it would be nice to create a card with an autumn feel using an older stamp set that's still available. So after picking out the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set and coordinating Nature's Roots Dies I set to work. ROOTED IN ... VIEW POST
