As I sat down to create today’s project I had just a very vague idea of what I was doing. All I knew was that I wanted to experiment a little more with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder. In previous experiments I’d simply embossed coloured card, which turned out remarkably well. After that I'd inked up some card before embossing the fern design into it, and adding other ink colours afterwards. Today I wanted to see what would happen if I started by embossing Basic White Card before inking ... VIEW POST

A Paper Pumpkin Thing: Sweet Sunflowers
It’s the first Friday in September and that means I’m taking part in the A Paper Pumpkin Thing blog hop. This month I’m excited to bring you a couple of alternate projects using the August Paper Pumpkin kit called “Sweet Sunflowers”. This amazing kit was chock full of prepared pieces. These included printed card bases and envelopes with gorgeous watercolour images that were hand-painted by one of the designers at Stampin’ Up! If you missed out on the kit I hope my designs will inspire you to ... VIEW POST
Early Signs Of Autumn
Today has been a bit of a mixed bag. My usual routine has been completely disrupted by a couple of important appointments and I’ve struggled to get back on track. Still, the drive into town was really pretty and I spotted quite a few trees making a head start on their autumn finery. While I often think of autumn as full of bright reds and oranges the early part of the season is more subdued. So this project hints at those subtle changes from green to peach and brown tones. Forever Seeking Inspiration
Do you have 'go to' colour combinations you use over and over again? Petal Pink and Crumb Cake with either Mint Macaron or Soft Sea Foam is one I love. It has a wonderfully soft look that is so pretty. Yesterday I was trying to create a simple three colour combination with a vintage autumn feel. Stamping some different options onto strips of card allows me to keep my favourites close at hand to refer back to. But plans go awry and a simple mistake resulted in a forever favourite. FOREVER ... Autumn Thank You
I’m having so much fun playing with the Fond of Autumn Stamp Set and coordinating Autumn Bouquet Dies. The main image is very large and there’s two different dies depending on how you want to cut it out. One die cuts the image into four parts, and I’ve created projects using some of these sections in earlier blog posts. So today I decided to use the complete image cut out in one piece using the alternative die option. The result is this pretty thank you card in soft autumn colours. SOFT ... VIEW POST
Hoarding Like Squirrels
I love stamp sets and admit I’m a bit of a hoarder. That’s probably not news to you, but I suspect many of you are hoarders too. However even with a stamp set I love I sometimes wish there were other/extra images. This was exactly what happened after I got the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set last year. The two squirrels are so cute but something was definitely missing, separate acorn images. So why was it only after I’d finished today’s project that I realised my wish had been granted? NUTS ...
